A day in the south of Tuscany, where you visit two of the oldest hill towns of the region..
We first visit the town of Cortona, famous for its Etruscan ruins (2 century B.C.) which now stands as a wealthy town that has preserved the structure of the medieval times. The well-known movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" was filmed here!!! In the afternoon, experience a beautifully scenic drive through the hills, to yet another beautiful city. The city of Montepulciano. Montepulciano is a beautiful town, situated on and around lush rolling hills, here you can relax, walk around and experience a glass of the delicious local red "Nobile di Montepulciano". As we make our way back to Florence we'll stop in Pienza, the "ideal town" of Pope Pius II, a famous Renaissance town, where "pecorino" cheese tasting is a must...
