Pick up at your hotel for a tour in the "medieval times". First stop in Monteriggioni, a charming medieval fortress built in 1204 by the Sienese people, then on to Siena, one of the most beautiful cities of Tuscany, also famed for the "Palio", the annual historic horse-race and for its Duomo, the art-filled cathedral that features works of Michelangelo and Donatello. Onward to San Gimignano, one of the most charming and picturesque Tuscan hill towns. Its towers dominate the town in the manner of skyscrapers in our modern cities. During the day we will have the option to stop in local restaurant for lunch. |
