Tuscan Travellers - Tuscany and Italy Driving Guide Tours colle val d'elsa Volterra

Colle Val D’ Elsa and Volterra Private full day

9:00am to 5:00pm.  Every day

Volterra and Colle val d'Elsa offer an unusual side of Tuscany. A day to discover craftmanship of glassware in Colle Val d'Elsa, taste local Pecorino cheese and finally discover one of the oldest and most important Etruscan towns Volterra.

Highlights:

- Crystal blown by hand in Colle Val D'Elsa

- Enjoy the landscapes of Central Tuscany

- Organic sheep cheese "Pecorino" tasting in a local farm

- Visit to one of the oldest Etruscan cities Volterra, location of the "vampire" movie New Moon

A morning drive takes us to Colle Val D'Elsa. This charming hill town surprisingly produces 95% of Italy's crystal. We will see crystal blown by hand and made into delicate wine glasses, vases, and even animal sculptures.
Next, we will drive into the incredible landscape of Volterra, where treeless green hills make for spectacular photos. Stop at an organic cheese farm to taste the area's best sheep's milk cheese before climbing up into the hill town of Volterra, an ancient Etruscan stronghold now famous for its alabaster.
